3 Marketing Strategies you NEED to be doing
When you are an entrepreneur, you want to take full advantage of all the freebies available to you, right? The same can be said when you create your business marketing strategy. Sure, you can pay for ads on an ongoing basis, but if you are paying for multiple ads across multiple platforms, that will add up quickly and is a very short-term solution. Instead, try thinking about long-lasting strategies you can implement as a business that cost you as little as possible.
If you are not sure where to start, here are three marketing strategies I always start our clients with:
Be consistent:
I’m not saying you need to show up every day for your audience, but show up for them consistently. For example, if you choose to show up three days a week, then show up for those three days. If you decide to show up for five days and take the weekends off, then stick to that. Being consistent will let your audience know what they can expect from you. In the same sense, if you are taking a hiatus or social media break, give your audience the heads up so they aren’t left wondering if you fell off the face of the internet.
Don’t rely on one platform:
I hope this isn’t the first time you’re hearing this, but you don’t own anything on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. At any moment, any one of them could shut down and you could be left with nothing. It is crucial for your business that you build your business across multiple platforms. You need an alternate way to reach your audience that YOU are in control of. Email marketing or your own website is a great way to reach your audience on the off chance that Mark Zuckerberg closes the social media doors.
Share your story:
People want to know you. They want to know the person, or the people, behind the business.
What brought you to this business?
Who are you?
Why should they buy from you?
Learning these things about you or your team will help them build that know-like-trust factor. Once someone feels like they know you and like you, they will begin to trust you. Once they trust you, it will only be a matter of time before they become a client or customer. So let down your walls and let your audience get to know you.
I know that might sound like a pretty basic marketing strategy, but I promise you it is a great place to start while you build your business. Being consistent, growing your business across multiple platforms, and sharing your story are the building blocks to growing any business. They all work cohesively to develop that know-like-trust factor that turns followers into clients/customers.
