The 5 mindsets of an entrepreneur
It goes without saying that not everyone is cut out for the same job. I could NEVER be a doctor or nurse because blood makes me queasy. I also know I wouldn’t make a very good tradeswoman because I’m not overly handy. I also wouldn’t make a very good interior designer, professional football player, politician, lawyer, singer, or landscaper (just to name a few). But, I also know that there are people who are VERY good at doing those jobs because they have a very different mindset than I do. A doctor isn’t afraid of a bit of blood, an interior designer can turn a house into a home, a lawyer can take on any debate, and a landscaper can make your outdoor space into your own private oasis.
Now, let’s talk about entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs have a much different mindset. They have a mindset of growth. Unlike employees in fixed organizations, entrepreneurs don’t have a blueprint path to follow as they grow. Entrepreneurs are constantly working to develop their skills, knowledge, and business. If you’re thinking of becoming an entrepreneur, take a minute to consider your own mindset.
Here are five mindsets of an entrepreneur:
Creator mindset:
Entrepreneurs think outside the box. They see something and believe they can do it differently and better. An entrepreneur’s mind is always on the go, thinking of new products, services, and ways of doing things. They are always trying to think of the next valuable thing they can offer.
Anything is possible mindset:
Entrepreneurs dream big. They are constantly striving to hit their next goal or target. Entrepreneurs really believe the saying “if we can dream it, we can achieve it,” which can lead them to great success.
Knowledge is power mindset:
Entrepreneurs are always learning new skills and techniques to better themselves and their business. They usually learn things rather quickly and are determined to master them. Entrepreneurs are life-long learners.
Visionary mindset:
Entrepreneurs have a vision for their business. They know exactly where they want their business to go and how to get there. After all, their business was built on this vision. Part of an entrepreneur’s vision is when, where, and how to take their business to the next level. They are driven to succeed and always thinking about the next step.
Failure is a learning opportunity mindset:
Entrepreneurs are not afraid of failure. They believe failure is just another opportunity to learn and grow, and they can quickly change and adapt their plans if something isn’t working. Entrepreneurs refuse to fail and are determined to pick themselves up and find a way to make it work.
Not everyone has the mindset to be an entrepreneur, just like not everyone has the mindset to be a veterinarian, an aesthetician, or a teacher. Yet, we all have essential roles in our community, and all provide valuable services.
So, what does your mindset tell you about your career? Is entrepreneurship calling you?
